My Darkness Revealed

Darkness Creeps In

Darkness creeps, I feel its weight,
A shiver runs, then I awake.
My head is heavy with the sin,
A bitter taste that burns within.
An end comes to us all, we know,
Whether joy or sorrow, high or low.
It’s the sum of where we’ve been,
The roads we’ve walked, the wounds we’ve sinned.
The watcher stands, silent, still,
Counting us, bending to its will.
A melody for every soul,
Guiding us to that final goal.
Be you humble or stand in might,
In the end, all fade to night.
No matter how tall you may stand,
We’re dust in the vast, forgotten land.
