Tomorrow's Dream
In the drifting essence of tomorrow's dream,
Echoes of the past begin to scream.
Outside your heart, yet within your soul,
Distant memories still console.
Breaking apart to make a start,
Nothing has changed, though the ties are strained.
Everything anew, bidding adieu,
Thinking of me while I think of you.
Storm clouds gather within your mind,
Pictures of us, torn and maligned.
The flooding subsides, and clarity grows,
Tomorrow’s view, as the stillness flows.
Life cherished last, all that you do,
Holding fast to shadows you knew.
Release yourself with benedictions rare,
For spoken words hold power—if timed with care.
Take heed of needs, trust what you feel,
Do not cast doubt; let your heart reveal.
Remove it from the shelf, unbound and true,
And find the strength to begin anew.
